Mike McKinnonManaging Director
Mike has been involved in the security industry for over 20 years and was appointed to the Board of ASIAL (Australian Security Industry Association Ltd) in mid 2010. Prior to joining MSS Security, Mike was the General Manager, Contracted Security Services Unit at Qantas. As a major user of security services, this role gave Mike an in-depth understanding of the security function from a client’s perspective. Mike also has a wealth of knowledge and experience in security electronic wholesaling, safe manufacturing and distribution, alarm monitoring and electronic solutions. Mike’s unique experience has given him unparalleled insight into all aspects of the security industry.
George ChinChairman of the Board
After a short successful military career, George joined Wormald, later to become Chubb in 1979. He has held various senior positions including Managing Director of Chubb Protective Services Australia and New Zealand and President of Chubb Asia based in Hong Kong. He was appointed as Chairman of the Australian Board of SIS SPV Pty Limited and MSS Security Pty Ltd in August 2008. George was awarded the Australian Order of Medal (OAM) for leadership in setting National Training Standards for the Australian Security Industry and for Industry leadership.
Don BurnettFinance Director
Don is a Chartered Accountant in Australia and a Certified Public Accountant in the USA. He is responsible for the financial and commercial function at MSS Security, ensuring the company’s long-term financial stability and ability to continue to provide clients with best practice service. Don commenced his career at Price Waterhouse and has held senior positions at Henry Walker Eltin and Greater Union Cinemas. He has a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
Geoff AlcockGeneral Manager, NSW
Geoff leads the NSW team with a particular focus on customer service and risk management. Geoff’s commitment, collaborative approach and passion for his clients allow him to lead by example and foster a culture of service excellence. His dedication engenders high rates of client satisfaction and staff retention. Geoff supports an experienced management team and over 1,000 security personnel. He has a Diploma in Logistics and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration. Geoff has previously held senior positions with Wesfarmers, Linfox and Brambles.
Matthew BurleighGeneral Manager, SA/NT
Matthew manages both our South Australian and Northern Territory teams and has over seven years of experience in the security and facilities management field. He has a strong focus on managing client expectations and delivering high quality outcomes through team leadership and strategic contact. Matthew has participated in extensive training in risk management, equal employment opportunity and hazard management.
David CheathamGeneral Manager, ACT
David has five years experience in the security industry and over twenty years experience in the NSW Police Force. He is responsible for managing many high profile government contracts, and has extensive knowledge of federal government and critical infrastructure security requirements. He has assessed, analysed and written over 500 high-risk site assessments, and compiled a 125 page training manual in the lawful, appropriate and correct use of firearms. David has diplomas in Security and Risk Management, Training and Assessing and Business Management.
Ian PatrickGeneral Manager, WA
Ian Patrick has 29 years experience in the security industry, joining the company after four years in the Australian Army. He is responsible for the delivery of services in Western Australia, including safety, compliance and quality assurance. Ian has extensive experience in risk management, managing a number of high profile sites. His customer service ethos encompasses clients ranging from large sites to smaller accounts, ensuring high standards of service delivery and personal attention.
Nick SamiosGeneral Manager, Qld
Nick has 15 years experience in the security industry, and previous experience with the Queensland Police Service and the Australian Federal Police. He has a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of critical infrastructure and high profile sites, effectively mitigating risk through in-depth assessments and critical response. Nick is currently completely a Master of Business Administration and has a Diploma of Government (Security).
Mark CachiaGeneral Manager, Aviation
Mark is responsible for the leadership of the national Aviation team. Mark brings with him a dynamic and diverse management style. Mark is well respected in the industry for his exceptional focus on customer service and client relations. He has three years experience in the security industry, and over 28 years in the aviation industry. His ability to listen and understand clients’ needs enables him to deliver and exceed our clients’ expectations. Mark’s passion and drive provides his team with a ‘can do’ attitude that ensures customers are provided with a quality end-product.
Emma ClementsGeneral Manager, People & Culture
Emma oversees many of the people aspects of the business to ensure all elements of issues and improvements can be easily considered and implemented. These include: human relations; industrial relations; health safety and environment; and training (including the MSS Security Training Academy). Emma focuses on the needs of both our people and our clients to ensure a culture of teamwork and collaboration, reward and recognition, ongoing training and development, and continuous improvement.
General Manager, Client Services
Greig manages a number of client contracts with a focus on service excellence and continuous improvement. Greig’s proactive approach and prompt follow up provide clients with a high level of personal attention and responsiveness. Greig has six years of experience in the security industry and has previously been responsible for managing commercial operations for a number of organisations across Asia Pacific and North America. Greig has a Diploma in Marketing and an Associate Diploma in Accounting.
Warren WebbCompany Secretary / General Counsel
Warren joined MSS Security in 2007, after spending the majority of his legal career as a commercial and litigation partner in private practice in Sydney. After more than 20 years in private practice, Warren made a career move into the corporate world initially as general counsel for an international firm in Malaysia, then as general counsel for an Australian investor. Following the acquisition of MSS Security by SIS, Warren was appointed General Counsel and also undertakes company secretarial duties. Warren completed his law degree at Sydney University.
